Is there ever a day when there isn't fan fiction or cliché romance on the stories page? - Comments

The only thing I can write is more along the lines of original fiction but I do read fanfiction when it's seems promising though I have stumbled onto many bad!fic that have that basic plot design. Of course there are also some original fiction that fall in that category as well.

I'm feeling you on the mislabels. That's probably why I rarely search for fics on mibba.

I do have a problem with that too. People mislabeling their writing. It does make searching for certain kind of stories hard.

Even when I do click the original fiction tag, there is still some fan fiction in there for some incredibly odd reason. And I know I should search for it. I just wrote this journal to try and tell people what a lot of people dislike in writing. If they take this into consideration, there would be more creative writing and less fan fiction. I mean, usually, it's about 1000 original fictions out of more than 300,000 stories.

agreed. I was sort of hoping to see a little bit more than starry-eyed fanfics and the now over used vampires and werewolves... I want to find something out there that's sort of twisted and supernatural, but more than just romance.

If you don't like fanfiction you could always just click the original story link on the stories page or click for whatever kind of story you do like. The fact is, this is an amatuer writing site. People are trying to get better by writing more. It's not going to be perfect. Mibba is a site that helps people develop their writing skills. If you think something is cliche or horrible then you could either do one of two things:

    1. stop reading it
    2. try to constructively help them out by posting comments on how they could make their writing better

    * There are some very good pieces of writing on Mibba, you've just got to look for them.

I agree with you, but I also dissagree. As long as it's a good story I'm all for it. I have an original story, but it's only gotten to like the second chapter. I'm out of inspiration. If you want to read it it's called 'Take me Home, I don't Wanna be alone...'

Man I hate that. I have two fan fictions, and sure one of them is a liitle corny, but the other one is barely a fan fiction and the endings are both going to be sick. The rest of mine are twisted, fucked up, hopefully shocking, and sometimes abusive. I make it a point to put a plot twist in whenever possible. Then I click the story button and I see Jonas, Jonas, Vampire, Frerard, Jonas, Alex Garsath, Brian Haner, Jonas. It's so aggravating. Thank you thank you thankkkk you!

    Good luck with that. =D

I always comment stories I think suck politely saying how they could improve. No one who reads this will think it's aimed towards something like their story.

You have to take into consideration that millions of people are members on the site and not all of them know each other, so they don't converse about what they are going to write. I do agree thought. I like originals myself.
I am writing one if you would like to take a peek.

I Hate That I Love You.

If you do read it, comment, and please tell me what you think.

I completely agree with you. That's why I rarely ever get on Mibba anymore or read stories on here. Those types of stories are everywhere and truthfully, they are boring and have unnecessary content.
But the real irony is that their extremely popular. I hope eventually that people will get it through their heads that those aren't REAL stories, just garbage that has been way overdone. I want to see a well-written story that will make me come back and anticipate for future chapters, which doesn't seemed to be happening.
I doubt the stuff they write could ever be publised, it's not worthy enough for the rest of the world to buy and read it.

I know, but there's no harm in trying to make people's writing more interesting. Besides, I want to find a damn good story. :P

I don't really care what people write.
It's pretty annoying when the title's good and it draws me in, but, when I click on it, the story's sh*t.

    I also hate it when there's no short description or a summary-thing. . .

=/ People are always going to write stuff like that, though.
