Oh! Another thing! They are making such a big deal about that girl killing herself over a fake boy on myspace.

Most of the 'fakes' on this site are probably young teenage girls with self esteem issues. They will outgrow it, but harrassing them isn't helping at all.

The fake myspace boy was a 40 year old MOTHER of one of the girl's peers. Not a teenager. The girl also didn;t kill herself just because of some fake boy, it was much more complicated than that I'm sure.

Laralie! I can't be a ninja turtle-corn! I already told you I was all of ATL combined! Shh, it's a secret.

And haha, Lights, we seem to be thinking along similar lines.

It kinda tempts me to delete all my pictures. Then proceed to tease my hair, and make myself look scene, and post a picture of it. I'd have a major laugh if that suddenly make me a 'fake'

To be honest, I'm really tempted to put a picture of Jessica Simpson up all over my profile/avatars, with a big arrow on it saying "Me. No jokes. My boobs really are that big!"

I like greeting new people and I've seen that everyone who carries a 'scene' look is automatically a fake in their book. It's ridiculous.

It does seem like a game to them...Like one day they were bored and decided to wreak some havoc. Or maybe they're just seriously misguided?

Because they like the little power trip that they're on. I've gone to all the profiles they've asked for salutes from, and told them not to worry about it, and that they don't owe anyone a salute. Which I'm sure is going to infuriate alot of these fake-busters, but I can't say I really care.

What do they think they're doing to the members that they're harassing?

And as I've already said: That girl that committed suicide because some guy she'd been talking to was fake? Obviously there were underlying issues there and she wasn't entirely stable to begin with. Going on a witch-hunt for fakes isn't going to make the site better. It's only going to piss people off.

Ambrielle: I knew it! I knew you weren't a Ninja Turtle-corn! How dare you lie to all of mibba! I'm hurt.

Anywho, I agree. And the last two sentences are very wise words, indeed.

I've lurked...a little bit. I like to be informed. XD
They have 'patrols' and take turns hunting through profile to find fakes. They are apparently recruiting people, but like you said, don't know if they are 'good enough'. Good enough for what exactly? Harrassing people?

Seriously. If they are so worried about fakes on the internet, they should go to Myspace or Vampirefreaks or something, because there are way more people there, and more fakes too.

In my opinion, they are just a couple of kids on a power trip. It seems like it's a game to them.

Yeah, the "I'm better than you because I can have you banned" thing is really grating me.

From what I've gathered (and by stalking profiles, not much) they're almost turning it into a club-thing-dealy. Like, "these girls want to be fakebusters but I don't know if they're good enough" sort of thing. And then they proceed to talk about the "mean Mibba people". I mean, if they're so upset about it, why don't they just leave?

Oh geez. Those girls are truly rediculous. Fakes got reported on mibba before they were around and started this whole 'Fake Busters' business, and nobody was quite as immature about it as they are. They do think they are helping by "cleaning up mibba" but they are just breaking site rules themselves by harrassing new users and *cough* making a second account *cough*. Mibba users are smart enough to figure out for themselves if someone is fake or not, then they can choose wether or not they want to report that person or ignore them. They make it seem like mibbians are stupid and they are doing us a huge favor by hunting down fakes and reporting them. They are just going about it in a very rude and immature way, demanding 'salutes' and asking brand new users "Are you fake? Somebody thinks you are a fake. So are you?" Then they yell at other people for 'defending fakes'. I've yet to see somebody actually defending a person who is proven to be fake. Half of the so called fakes aren't even breaking site rules, because you can have anything or anyone as your profile picture. I have ninja turtles, does that mean I'm a fake? A fake ninja turtle!

Anyways. All they are doing is scaring people off, fake or not, and giving mibba a bad name. If I were a new user and I saw all of this going on, I would leave and never come back.

Terribly sorry that this comment is probably longer than your journal. My bad.

People are only upset about 'fakes' now because of that one chick who committed sucide over some fake guy.
Some people just need to get over themselves and stop carrying that 'high and mighty' attitude.

    Haha.

I'm just glad that there are multiple people here telling the 'fake-busters' to lay off. They aren't being helpful. They're being annoying. All they're doing is getting on people's nerves. So yes, I stand by my thank you. :D

Very good point, you've got. I agree with you.

Anyways, to sum it up, get over it, then get over yourselves. The world is a big bad place, and yes, people lie.

    ^ Very very wise words.

I know what you mean...I've lost faith.
It's pretty much the same thing, only here we can cover all sorts of bands...
And then you get the lovely, "I hate _____" journals, followed by the "Why all the hate on _____? " ones. But that's a whole different story...

Are you kidding?! Mibba's never been a writing site. =o
Srsly, the moment it was set up to be a sister-site to things like INO and GSB, it was already set to never be, even mostly, about the writing. :/
