I agree with you 100%.
I hate when you people are like, "Omgsh you're a virgin?! OMG!"
It's like, since when are the virgins the ones that are looked poorly upon.
It used to be the sluts and whores who were looked poorly upon.
Now it's the ones who have morals and respect for themselves?
It's so messed up.
Since I'm a Christian, I'm waiting until I'm married to have sex.
I'm getting a purity ring soon.

It's their choices (like everyone else has said) but when you're a girl in high school and walking around with a baby in you when you're definetly not ready that's something you shoulda thought about before. Last year I think there were three or five pregnant girls in my school. I was walking down the stairs behind this group of girls and one goes to her friend "Want to feel what a baby in a stomach feels like?" (or something like that) to her other friend and puts her hand on her friends stomach.

My biggest issue with sex at such a young age is the teen pregnancy and how some of the teens don't take responsibilities for their actions.

All of my friends, and I mean every single one of them, have had sex except for me and it doesn't bother me that I haven't. All the girls have had their pregnancy scares too and it truly doesn't bother me that I haven't. Lol.
If you want to have sex, go for it, if not, then don't. It's up to you. But if you aren't telling people that they shouldn't have sex then you shouldn't be told you should. All my friends make fun of me for it. I don't care though.

Like anyone else who has commented, I agree, it's personal choice. The person who laughed at you is likely just immature and thinks she's more mature because she's had sex.

I'm 20 and a virgin too. My friends laugh at me, but it's like Two Dollar Bill said, more of a "thats so cute" thing. Although, it does bug me when they do it, even if it is just joking and not to be taken personally.

Sometimes, I get PMs here on Mibba from younger girls who want advice about this stuff. (Does anyone else who is a little older get those, too?) I have nothing to give. I'm twenty and I'm still a virgin. I see nothing wrong with it. I have friends who are years older than me, and who are also virgins. Personally, I'm just terrified of physical contact in general to a point at which me having sex isn't very likely right now, or anytime soon, but I don't look down on those who are virgins by choice. More power to them, if anything.

Sure, it's different with my friends, we discuss about these things, but at a mature level(with the exception of few witty comments and jokes, of course).
But still, having sex doesn't make you adult.
Here where I live, sex isn't considered a taboo, we talk open about it, at least the people surrounding me do, and pretty much no one worth knowing makes fun of someone who's a virgin.

As many in these comments have said, it's a personal decision. You don't have to until you're ready and if ever the person you are with tries to force you into it, then obviously they don't care about you as much as you thought they did.

That girl probably laughed at you because she's insecure. She's young and she's already had sex with a lot of different guys. She just wanted to feel better about herself and so she laughed at you, to try and get you down which would in turn make her feel better... so many people are like that. They're lame.

To be honest, I don't really care when people have sex as long as they're over 14 and they're definitely definitely in love, they're emotionally ready for it and they've been going out with the person for around a year.

So yeah, my and my friends were talking about this the other day and we came up with a conclusion. Well, this is for our school year, anyway.

If you have sex then you're a slut.
If you don't have sex then you're frigit.

Which kinda sucks, because it's true for our year.

but, yeah, I personally think that it doesn't matter what age you are, as long as you're certain that you like and trust the person enough that you can look back on that later on in life and think, "Hm, I'm glad it was that person." For some people, that might be 13 (though not likely, imo), for others, it might take until they're 25.

I'm proud to be a virgin. As long as I'm not a virgin when I'm 40 or something, I'm happy =D The time will come, but certainly not when I'm still practically a kid.

Sex (having it or not) is a personal decision and I think it should stay that way. That's one of the many reasons I'm very anti-promise ring, but that's for another rant. I agree with you...kind of. You shouldn't be ridiculed or laughed at for being a virgin, just like people shouldn't be ridiculed or called a slut for not being a virgin. I definitely agree that kids as young as 13/14/15 should not be having sex AT ALL. Even if they think they're in love.

You should have just told that girl to mind her own damn business. Why was she asking you about your sex life anyway? Why should that be public knowledge?

I don't get why people have sex at a young age. It never appealed to me.
And BlankityBlank in some states the age of consent is 13 while in others it's 16. It varies from state to state.

I know someone who had sex with their boyfriend of 13. It's actually quite disgusting.

I don't see what the huge fuss is about. Sex doesn't change people physically, does it? So why are some people dying to get some, I will never know.

I think the laugh could have been a "That's so cute" type of thing. I've heard people laugh at virgins because they thought it was cute. Not like it was a bad thing. But I wasn't there, so I don't know.

I also think if you slept with your boyfriend, he'd still respect you. I mean... if you love him when you slept with him, and he really does respect your decision and you, I think he still would. That's my opinion.

And just so we're clear... I'm not telling you TO sleep with him. I'm just saying that if you did, I think he'd still respect you. :)
