Conor Oberst - Comments

Bright Eyes is my all time favorite band, but I have to have periods where I stop listening to Conor's music or else I stop appreciating it.

But it's so great to come back to after a particularly horrible day and discover the beauty of his lyrics all over again.

I'm pretty sure he's had problems with cocaine and alcohol, but I think many of his songs are also referring to friends he's had. He is very talented at putting himself in other people's shoes.

I get this. For me, I take comfort in my sadness -- which is kind of weird and people think I'm crazy, but it somehow makes me feel more real.
And maybe someone close to him was an alcoholic/drug addict and he went through it that way. Or he's just really good at putting himself in someone elses shoes!
