I feel exactly the same way.

My music choice is definitely not mainstream (Old rock, you know Elvis and all that). My friends are appalled with it all, and most wonder why I don't love T-Pain and all those sorts of people. The stereotype is like men, and occasionally women, in their late sixties and early seventies and it's hard to break that. The only time I've been able to have an intelligent discussion about my favorite singers has been with my grandma. Others around me automatically assume I'm a freak because I enjoy listening to Carl Perkins, haha.

    I feel for you!

Totally agree with you. I'm eleven and I like stuff that isn't the norm for my age. People I know listen to Hannah Montana and think The Jonas Brothers are hot and I'm like Ew. It drives them crazy though and I'm the sort of person who'll do that to you. I love annoying people and making fun of stuff. Even things I like I can make fun of for hours. =) GO CLASSIC ROCK PEOPLE! =) I also like country, my dad likes a lot of country so I grew up listening to that too. I only like some modern poppy stuff but not much.

I like Zeppelin, The Beatles, Queen, and The Who. I don't like AC/DC or Pink Floyd. And I like maybe two Rush songs.

I've grown up around classic rock. It's the only type of music I can listen to in my family without getting lectured to. To be honest, I'm sick of it. I'm sick of having to conform to what my father and brother listen to. I'm tired of being yelled at for enjoying the radio.

I do like classic rock and all. I just tend not to enjoy the expectations of my family as much.

Eh, would you really like having a bunch of teenie boppers walking around, arguing about which old band member is hotter?
I don't think so, I like it just the way it is.

I know a lot of women (older than...20?) who enjoy classic rock. Usually in their thirties. heh.
But, hell, the whole world needs to listen to better music these days. xP

I grew up to classic rock, it's great! When my sister and I were younger and in the car my mom would put on the classic rock station and we'd have to guess the song and band/singer. Queen = amazing.

Stereotypes make you oh so br00tal.
Geez, come on, you don't have to dress a certain way to be a fan.
I used to listen to a whole lot of metal in the days, still do, actually.
You can't call any band that has it's own thing poser, just because of the fact that they do their own thing, unless they are quite obviously copying.
But like I said, I'm a fan of a variety of music and I'm not one to be put into a stereotype.
Some jeans and a shirt is all I wear(and all I can afford).

I feel the same way, only, I'm into metal. And not the wannabe Bullet for My Valentine metal. Pantera, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Children of Bodom, Slayer and so on. Not necessarily in that order, though...

Anyway, the stereotype for metalfans is long hair, black or blond, NOT BROWN! *rolls eyes* and black clothes that are way too big for you. I don't see my green, lowtop converse fitting into that stereotype. Oh, and I'm a GIRL xD

    LOL!
That's what I told my dad when I was young, but he showed me the importance of their existence and such, so now I at least appreciate them.
They were an inspiration for a lot of people, who went into the music business later.

I think my altime favorite of the Stones has to be Angee. I love it!

My dad wanted to get me into The Beatles when I was a kid, he didn't have much success, until a while later. XD
I was more of a Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Cure, Placebo, Green Day(the old stuff), The Clash & Ramones kind of kid. :D
Never got tired of rock, though.

Auroria Lenore The Stones are awesome. I love the song "Get off of my Cloud." My dad's really into Pink Floyd, but I don't find them that appealing.
