    Wo, that's a difficult one.
Here's what I think: I believe that when someone starts to doubt something or someone so much, they actually start to believe it. Maybe you are hoping that your relationship with the boyfriend fails so you can fullfill that fantasy of going with his best friend that's in the back of your mind.
The best friend shouldn't have asked if you would leave the bf for him. That makes him unloyal to his supposed best friend. That's betrayl in their friendship. But then again, all is fair in love and war...
I guess you need to weigh out your heart and mind and go with the stronger one.

If you're miserable with your boyfriend, it's obviously not a relationship that's going to last forever. It's going to be over sooner or later. If you're considering leaving him now, who's to say it won't just get worse as time goes on?
And even if it doesn't work out with your best friend, you can always go back to being friends with him (it might seem hard at first, but it gets easier. Soon it's like the failed relationship never happened at all, believe me). Personally, I'd rather wind up alone for awhile than stay in a relationship where I'm not happy and I'm constantly having doubts. But that's just me.
