I'd rather have GoldFish crackers and juice personally. Not because I prefer the crackers over McDonald's. I just want some juice.
They gave us McDonald's for immersion as well, but only gave us juice one day. Biscuits have to be eaten with some sort of drink. Otherwise, you die of dehydration.

    Miranda., exactly!

No Child Left Behind is a joke. Some kids should be left behind. I get how it's sort of discouraging to be left behind, but really it makes more sense to do so. At least everyone would learn better/more.

In sports it's either you can play or you can't. You never see teams with bad players. (Not unless everyone sucks anyway.) Only the ones who can play.
Additionally, there's Junior Varsity and Varsity (not always a difference between grade). Why can't there be two levels in education?

I don't have the feeling the world is comprised of idiots. Never.

I have the KNOWLEDGE that it is. =/ But that's my job's fault and it's making me cynical.

Good luck on the tests. That sounds like hell.

I agree, of course. There's so much worry placed on people passing that actual learning is lost.

Oh, and my question about the writing test wasn't really a question at all. I'm just being a bit snarky toward Georgia. Why doesn't it follow the pattern you set? and eveything.

I forgot to mention another problem with the test dates. Different schools start and end at different times. Yet everyone is tested in March. This causes chaos. (When you rush, things tend to mess up. The same concept applies to grading.)
Why not test the people who attend a school that graduates in May in April and the ones who graduate in June in May?
I know! Because that would actually make sense.

Anyway, thank you How to Explain for commenting.

Well for me the test doesn't have anything to do with whether we graduate or not. The ones at my school are just to make sure that the school is teaching what it supposed to. I don't like the No Child Left Behind either. Some kids need to be left behind sometimes, especially if they don't known the stuff they should. I think it just makes them more behind if you send them to the next grade anyways.

    State testing, it sounds like?
Yeah, those are held in way too much light when it comes to criteria for graduating..My state spendxs so much time having to practice/teach the material and carriculum of the test that we really end up knowing nothing in the subject we should be studying.

First of all, it makes the state look better if more people pass. I believe it also has to do with the "No Child Left Behind" program that does more harm than good.
Writing takes longer to grade; they have to read the essays and compositin of every high schooler, and then grade them. Long, tiring process. =P
As far as the scheduling goes; for us it was Math, English, SS, Science. Writing was somewhere in November, if I remember right? I don't understand how they chose the ordering in my state.

I think that's the sort of thing you're talking about. Real waste of time, imo. It doesn't really reflect too much on our level of education.
At least youu get McDonalds. We got GoldFish crackers and Orange Juice...>>

    /ramble.
It'd be more coherant if I was awake right now.
