    I agree with you.
My boyfriend actually goes around Hot Topic at the preppy girls and screams "VAMPIRES DONT SPARKLE!"

Yes! I totally agree with you :] But I have to say Stephenie has a talent in writing, except that what she writes is(according to me) crap.

Shiny Queen, 'cause she's the 'new girl', so she appears to be interesting to the guys. They barely get new students in their school. The people will soon get over her though. Well, except... Mike? I can't remember. But I think it's Mike who still isn't over her in Breaking Dawn.

Ugh, I'm in the middle of book one... and I don't think I'll ever finish it. I mean, it's so annoying. It's all about Edward, they're always... questioning each others. And the bloody moodswings. My sister loves it. She's 20. I don't get it, it has to be one of the worst books I've ever read, and I'm the type to love whatever I read. As long as it's not ridiculous, overly perfect, annoying characters. Which it is here.
And why does Bella get all these admirers? I never got that. She's supposed to be perfectly plain, isn't she?

You've said the same things as every vocal Twilight hater have out there, except the whole "Twilight is not a vampire story, but a love story" thing and I so agree with you on that one. A LOT of haters have missed that one point and I'm glad someone FINALLY thinks the same.

Vampires are fictional. Anyone can do anything they want with them. Yes, as far as vampires go the ones in Twilight are weak and not at all hardcore and intimidating. But seriously, there are no such things as Vampires really, so why can't Stephanie Meyer do whatever she wants with them.

and may I remind you, you chose to read all four books. You could have stopped after the first one.

I thought they were entertaining books. By no means literary masterpieces at all. But they were entertaining enough. The last book has it's issues, and it annoyed me how Bella was all perfect and the like. But whatever, I got over it. I have better things to do than to whinge about it.

meh laugh at me for liking Twilight. I don't mind.

Hail. :D you put it very well. Me and a couple of fellow quality literature readers qualified for a contest and had almost the same thought : If Lestat saw this crap abou vampires who stand and sparkle in the sunlight, he would twist and turn, wherever he is. Same about vampires procreating. The woman destroyed all the folklore and information there is about vampires. Edward Cullen is such a Gary Stu, it's not funny. Not only is he noble, and perfect looking, he also happens to be practically indestructible. Ridiculous. Anne Rice should bitchslap the know-nothing money-driven Meyer.

I agree with you. My mum got me the books at Christmas because everyone wanted them. I read them and got bored during all the werewolves history bit and got bored during all the vampire crap. It's a badly written romance that a ten year old girl that doesn't know what a kiss is like and has no idea what sex is could have written better!

Love this! I totally agree about book four. Bella was all perfect; she didn't have the classic new vamp symptoms, was perfectly in control of herself, and then boom, we find out Edward could't read her mind because she was a FREAKING RARE FORM OF PSYCHIC!! What...the...Hell?! I hated how the characters had zero flaws (according to fans) and how Bella NEVER got pissed when Edward tried to control her life. Come ON.

Frankly, Bella was a hormone-driven slut who was panting after Sparkly Vampire Boy. Sorry, but it's true. She was always trying to seduce him. Yuck. I've never read an Anne Rice book, but I can sggest some GOOD vampire stories:

    Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

In the Forests of the Night, Demon In My View, Shattered Mirror by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. (made doubly awesome because of the fact that she wrote the first one at age 13).

Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz

But really, I have to say, the whole vampire craze is getting old. Especially the "tragic, misunderstood, beautiful vampire guy falling for the pure and spunky human heroine" plot. Gag. That's not "classic" people; it's overdone. Go read some books about fairies or zombies for a change. =)

    I loved this journal.
