btw i do know that they can't put everything in the movie or else it would have been like 4 hours long but they put in stuff that wasn't important to the plot and WASN'T EVEN IN THE BOOK (the death eaters coming to the burrow and setting it on fire!!!) and i guess i do agree with yourpinkdiary about the "vibe" being right... and for me, there was no "plot disaster" in harry potter 3 (my favorite one so far)

I didn't mind it. You could tell they new the ending when they made this movie (though leaving out the tiara annoyed me), but the way they included Olivander going missing and Regulus Black was great. Subtle and just a movie watcher wouldn't even have picked up on it really.

I wish they'd left out the burrow scene, I mean for what it's worth, I understood it. But it would have eben better if they focused more on Tom Riddle.

I loved the side of Harry we saw... it was closer to book Harry than we've ever had it before.

Anyway, David Yates has a knack for getting the vibe right. The last two movies have been great as far as getting the same vibe from the book to the movie goes. Which the first four missed.

And it wasn't as much of a plot disaster as number 3. Which I hate. I don't own it on dvd and I never will.

saveroftheworld that is exactly why they didn't say the spells, because they're learning not to. I really enjoyed the movie. It was cute and funny, but it also had the serious moments.

Honestly bookworm720 do you really think they had enough time for the battle and the funeral? The movie was already two and a half hours long. They couldn't fit anything else.

    A lot of good points.
But i must say i was glad for the lack of Harry/Ginny.
    I found it pretty gross.

I haven't seen it and don't want to. I don't like the films, apart from the third one (thanks Alfonso!) but the reason they might not be saying their spells is because they're learning to say them in their heads by this point, right?

I loved new sarcastic, cocky, silly Harry. He's way less depressing now. :D

Was it just me, or did the movie also have alot of scenes that looked very similar to lord of the rings? i.e. the zombies all looked like smeagle, that underwater scene, the scene where dumbledore is looking out over the school grounds with snape talking behind him looked like saroman and that creepy dude, whom i've forgotten his name. Also when dumbledore was drinking the potion, it reminded me of the king of rohan when gandolf was taking the curse off him.

    Agreed.
I was really sad for Aragog(spider, I hope I spelled it right)
But I though the ending was sorta corny.

But you for got to mention the funeral for Dumbledore.

reckless abandon., really? They purposely made it off-plot? Hmm. That's interesting. I guess in that case, it was a good movie for its special effects and the hilarity (they did a nice job with that, I must admit). I'll always have the books for the full story, I suppose.

Long before the movie came out, it was said that the movie was made far off plot, and so I wouldn't even judge the plot of the movie. I thought it was an amazing movie, the kind of movie we need before we wrap it up with two more.

I agree with you. Also, they cut out important plot scenes, like the memories showing the next horcruxes. I think they mean to include that stuff in the first half of the seventh adaption, but Harry kind of needs Dumbledore to show him... so I don't know. I was really disappointed in that. I know it's an adaption, but there's just some things you can't leave out, you know? :\
