I agree... I have no problem with posting a few pictures of yourself. I probably have a few floating around on the internet, but I'm not that into self-photography anyway, since I'm not terribly photogenic.
The people that I have the most issues with are the little 10-year-old kids who go on sites like Youtube, and they end up making fools out of themselves. Their parents really should keep a closer eye on them.
I've never gotten stalked by an older person. To my knowledge. :P I hang out with some adults, but they're 18 and my brother's friends... I don't find them dangerous.
Haha, have you ever seen those shows where a reporter pretends to be a thirteen year old girl or something? And they invite the pervert over and shame him xD It's hilarious xD
Jeffrey, that's happened to me with people I've just met in person. Naffag: DUDE. YOU'RE GOIN TO THE MALL? NO WAY. I'LL PICK YOU UP AND TAKE YOU SHOPPING! Me: D= ERM. NAW.
Lucifer.: =O OMG. That's just scary xD Yeah, this guy didn't actually live far from me, so he was all, "I should come meet you?" and I was like, "NO!" and then he told me he would give me loads of money to go underwear shopping. =/
I'm cautious about what I put up, and if I do find that what I've posted may seem iffy to me a couple seconds later, I go back and edit it.
Generally, that's happened a couple times on journals and my profile. I have one photo of me up, but all you see is my hair and my camera in front of my face (helps that it's in black and white). I wouldn't have posted it if I didn't think it looked coolish :D
Jeffrey Dahmer, holy crap. I get the rare facebook add from some weirdo, but that's it. Unlike this one time I set my network to 'Sudan'. I got this message from a Sudanese doctor stating his name, age, phone number and email. Also, he added "Nice profile reflect Nice Person."
Lucifer. Same here, I used to not really care about online safety. I mean, I did, but I wasn't being as careful as I should have. I realized that I did add some people I didn't even know, some people that maybe I didn't want on my profile and stuff, so I deleted a bunch of my friends that I didn't know. Some of them I did know but not personally, I only deleted those ones cause I felt like it . . . XD!
Lucifer.: Ah, I know, I've wised up as well. I got stalked on the Internet (MySpace) when I was 15, and he was 48 or something? He was really sick =O It was pretty terrifying. They just don't take "OMG go away before I ring the cops" for an answer xD
ZackyI can't agree more. Minors should be extremely safe when it comes to online communities like Myspace, Twitter, Piczo, etc. I used to brush that off.. but I've really smartened up. The last thing I need is some creep stalking me on the internet.
