Dress Codes - Comments

  • We have to wear normal black trousers (no flares or skinny jeans or anything.) White polo t-shirt with school logo and black sweatshirt with logo. We're not even allowed to wear boots to school. They have to be 'plain black school pumps.' It sucks.

  • Hey Dani! South doesn't have many dress codes...
    What's not allowed:
mesh tops, spandex (unless covered), clothing can't be disruptive to the other kids, tank tops, short shorts, anything that shows your tummy, hats/bandanas, rollar blade shoes, pajamas/slippers, and then the usual 'nothing that has violence, sex, or anything like that. Blah blah blah.
I'm just glad we can wear brightly colored make-up, tutus, and neon colors. ^_^
p.s. and colored skinny jeans. I gots some purple ones. ^_^

  • Last year there were rumors about there being a dress code. It wasn't true. Honestly, if the uniform looks good, I'll wear it.

  • My school has a dress code but they rarely enforce it.
We can't wear anything with vulgar language, drugs, or references to sex. Our fingertips have to be longer than the bottom of our skirts/shorts. No part of the clothing can be see through.
That's all I can remember, I'm sure there's more though.

  • I hate dress codes. My school isn't as strict about it as yours is though
    We can't wear
    -tanktops
-dresses, skirts, and shorts have to be below the knees
-anything related to gangs, sex, death, etc.
    -shirts must cover your stomach

    That's about it.

  • My school doesn't have a very strict dress code. Just nothing with guns,skulls,etc.. But nobody actually listens to them and they just do what they want.

  • Both my elementary school and high school have uniforms and dress codes that go Along with it. for the most part, I like having a uniform. Besides the restrictions that my school has with colored hair bands, excessive jewelry, and unnaturally colored hair, i'm glad that i don't have to pick out what to wear in the morning.

But I go to private school and think that it's a little odd that public schools now have a type of uniform now too.

  • You're lucky.

Most schools in Australia have a uniform (public schools included). I went to a private school with a gross uniform and really strict policy on it. I believe in my time there I got detentions for things like

    -Not wearing my hat
    -wearing a necklace
    -wearing the wrong socks
-having the top button of my shirt undone
-wearing the schools jumper instead of the blazer.

So having to wear a particular colour pant is nothing.

  • In my middle school, there's always a huge upset about short shorts. All the girls wanted to wear them. All the teachers didn't. I personally don't want to be down looking for a pencil, and catch a glimpse of something that should be hidden.

  • I've been wearing a uniform sinc I was 8.. its been 9 years.. I can sympathize with you.

  • My school resides next to a rivial school that does have the dress codes.
    Personaly though.
    I dislike it.
The reason why is because sometimes the uniforms can be expencive and those that can't afford them have to go secondhand, then later on get picked on because of it.

But really, I think kids are going to find different ways to pick on each other besides their clothes.

  • Well, I went to a primary school where it was mufti.
    Then Intermediate, had a uniform.
First year of high-school was mufti, but there were some codes and stuff with it.
No slutty looking clothes of course, and girls had to be extra careful of the types of clothes they wore. Understandable.
Rest of high school....moved schools. Now in uniform full time.
    And I love it.
It may be rather expensive, but it makes the school's stand out, it makes the students look tidy, and it does wonders.
    :]

  • I think they are stupid. But I understand where they are coming from. Because they want people to stop bullying other for what they wear. But I don
t think that will actually help.
