I'm starting university this fall, and I'm getting a loan. Obviously I don't know how it is in Canada compared to Norway, but we have a really good student loan organization. If you can get a proper loan that will cover your tuition fees, move down to Oakland early to land a job. Save up money so you have rent and money for the necessities for the first month or two and once you have a job, you're up and running.
I'm sorry if you can't get a loan... I guess my only advice then would be to try and get a full-time job with a regular pay. That way, you might be able to save up, or get an actual loan.
