Maybe you weren't as tactful as you could have been, but you're right - if she dumped him four months ago, it's time for him to stop hoping and move on. He's making you the bad guy, when it was just as much his fault that you were mad in the first place. When he said "I can't deal with this ---," it sounded like he just didn't want to face what you were telling him, and if he's really that set on this girl, you're right for dropping it. It doesn't sound like you'll get through to him without getting him mad.
As for Boy #2, I know a guy like that. He's a special kind of asshole, I guess; he can be perfectly nice to hang out with, but that still wouldn't be caught dead dating an "ugly" chick. Even so, you could be underestimating your own looks. If you're really sure that you're not, don't push it if it won't do you any good. If you're not his type, best to just find someone that will take you as you are.
