    THANK YOU!!
Disney is also so fucking sexist!!
don't get me wrong, i have three Disney classic kiddie flicks on my iPod, but that really pisses me off.
little girls grow up believing that all they need in life (and all they should want) is for a big strong handsom prince to come and sweep them off their feet.
WHAT SORT OF EXAMPLE IS THAT???
i believe in true love and happy endings and all that jazz, but riding off into the sunset is such a boring ending, and really, why kid ourselves into think we're going to live happily ever after?
    nothing is ever that perfect...
but hey, it's all very cute =)

I say let kids have the illusion. Even if it's just for a little while. It's nice that they get to have that blind faith that everything is going to work out. They don't have to realise all the darkness of the world just yet. Even after they do, sometimes it's nice to be able to watch those old movies and remember what it was like before you knew that kind of stuff.

And I know your pain. I was only ten when I went on that ride, but it was brutal. And the worst part was that as soon as you get off, there's a booth selling the CD of that stupid song and it's blaring it from portable speakers. Just when you think you get away, they play it some more! It was stuck in my head for like three days. I feel for you for having to go on it twice.

Of course life doesn't always have happy endings. But that's the magic of Disney :) Kids don't need to "wake the fuck up." They're kids, and they need to believe that life is beautiful and fair and perfect for as long as they can. Kids need to not suffer. Kids are our future generation, and starting them off with knowing life can be pretty fucked up, is going to lead to a pretty fucked up future generation... more than this generation is. Disney World is the happiest place ever, their cruise is probably the happiest cruise ever, and their movies are the happiest movies ever. That's thier thing - being happy, and in return making other people happy. I don't see why that's such a bad thing. I'll take a quote from The Dark Knight here: Because sometimes the truth isn’t good enough, sometimes people deserve more, sometimes people deserve to have their faith rewarded. Disney distracts kids, and even adults, from what's really happening in life. Sure, sometimes we need to man-up and face it. But let Disney make people happy. Let them create a perfect world of their own, and let people live in it whenever they want to :)

Disney is basically defined by happy endings. If you want different endings watch movies made by different people.

Disney is my happy place. When I feel bummed I watch a Disney movie to feel better.

I think we should let Disney and the kids have their happy endings because there aren't many happy endings in real life. It's good seeing happy endings on the screen, because it makes us happy as well, and maybe you'll be inspired to work even harder to have your own happy ending. Really, saying that there's no happy ending is a very negative way of thinking, because even though the good guy lose, the bad guy wins, and there's a happy ending for him, right there. It all depends on which side you choose to look at. If you want to find unhappy endings in Disney, there's plenty of them. Look at the bad guys, and you'll find it.

It's funny how as kids that's what we looked up to, but now we can see that it was all a pretty little lie..
