If your parents don't know about what you believe then they are hardly shoving it down your throat. If they are assuming that you do believe in God then how can giving you things such as that book be considered 'shoving it down your throat'?

This is a book published by Jehovah's Witnesses. I am aware of this fact because I am one. There are two series books, and I've only read the second one, which they've just recently came out with.

My mom pisses me off all the time, sometimes to the point where I'm literally biting my tongue not to say anything disrespectful. That book really has helped me to just close my eyes, take in deep breaths, listen to what she is saying to me, and to not question it, or talk back.

No matter what you believe or not, your mom is the parent and you are the child. Maybe rebelling and arguing works for you, but you don't gain anything from it, no matter if you believe me or not.

Maybe this book really wasn't published to help you, but a lot of other teenagers need the answers to these questions that were asked, hence the title. You may not have been aware that this journal was insulting, but think before you put up something that could concern other people's religions.

    Exactly.

I know that sometimes it may seem like your mom is the biggest bitch, ever, but really, despite anything else she says or does, all any mom wants to do is to do a good job raising their kids.
And I'm sure yours is doing a great job with you :)

    I agree with Saviour completely.

I mean, I'm your age, right? Sometimes my mom pisses me off too, but I won't forget that she IS my mother. Sometimes I think my mom doesn't understand me at all, but you know what I think right after? That I'm the wrong one and when I get older, I'll be more mature and I'll understand.

I sort of get what they could be saying about the abuse and drug addicts, but it sort of only appeals to whomever gets out of the situation. I think what they're trying to say is that because your parents are drug addicts or abuse you, then by surviving that and getting past it all, it makes you a stronger person.
"What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger" and all that jazz, right?

And about your mom not getting you, isn't that what basically every teenager on the planet thinks at some point? Your mom was a teenager too, you should just remind her of that.
