Yeah, I'm an original writer and it is actually a bit harder for us "orgies" (yeah, that's right, I went there) to get noticed on the site.
Realistically, to get noticed it's going to take a mixture of talent, patience, and whoring. Literally, if you see journals with people asking to have story suggestions, don't hesitate to ask them to read your stuff. Ask your friends, your friend's friends. Walk around your school wearing a sandwhich board that says "READ MY SHIT"
But recognition isn't going to be instant, especially if you're an original writer, so just hang in there. *insert picture of that theraputic poster of the cat hanging off a tree*
i know how you feel... i write fan fics with bands and i was really discouraged when my friends were getting like 10 stars within like 2 chapters and i had like 20 and had like 7 lol you just have to wait for you fanbase to pick up =]
lol don't worry I got no bad vibe from you at all but thanks, I don't know, it kinda bothers me sometimes like: "why does no one read my stuff :(" but I guess good things come to those who wait
i think that you should just be patient people will come to your stories if they think they are good and like them
and i'm not saying they aren't so i hope you don't think i'm being some sort of bitch =x
you shouldn't have to go outside your comfort zone for your own outlet to satisfy other people you're writing is about you not them even if you want people to read them just be happy with how you write =]
