I know exactly how you feel, this happened at my school last october.
It killed me how all the kids used it as a horrible excuse to be sad.
to this day there are people in my school using suicide as an attention seeker.
It makes me sick, this was in fact a suicide at my school, and i get offended by the students who use it to get attention. because i have attempted to do it, and they do not understand what it puts the family through.
Then in my 5th form year one of the girls in the year below me had been getting bullied and ended up jumping off the roof of the school building after consuming alcohol. I knew her and her family, it affected so many people... But we also had the people who didn't really care and would go and take pictures of where she did it. It disgusted me intensely
