Update when you can- there's no rush. I think just about everybody on Mibba, excepting possibly Electric Goat with her god-like organisation, procrastinates.
It's also not worth rushing something if you want it to be good. The way I see it, you can either write a godawful novel and tell everyone that you did it in two months, but then have them puke all over you when they actually read it, or you can take six months and write something you're happy with.
I get swarmed with ideas too, always at the least convenient times. Characters are great like that.
