I never said it wasnt postive. Ive celebrated past valentines days very lovingly. I just wanted to share my very special volunteering Valentines Day with a sarcastic twist. Or does no one do that anymore?
And whether you celebrate it because of the saint or not(which im aware that NO ONE does) Im still not cool with honoring him in any way. It makes me feel ignorant. If people are so loving then I think we should celebrate it everyday, instead of waiting for an excuse.

Nobody noticed I was single on Valentine's Day. There are heaps of perks to being single- such as having a huge party instead of having to fork out for a fancy restaurant.

As others have said, the day also need not be about the Saint. Most people use it to celebrate all kinds of love- including the love of family and friends instead of just partners. Really, V Day is just another day, and as such, it is what you make of it. If you're going to make anything of it, it might as well be something positive.

I agree with Goaty just because you don't have a man or a woman doesnt mean you cant celabrate love with some one who you care about.

And you did something good helping out at a shelter is a very selfless thing to do, you should be proud you where able to do that instead of something else.

Nobody really cares about the Saint. The day is about love and celebrating that love, whether or not you're in a relationship or not. Hang out with friends. Tell your parents you appriceate them. It doesn't matter.
