    If people would do things Gods way, stuff like that wouldn't be happening. It's because people choose to not do things Gods way like that when stuff like that happens.

    See, these kinds of statements bug the shit out of me. The idea that one entity can decide what's right,bar none, drives me wild. I don't think anyone should be able to decide a right way to live. The idea that people actually believe this is hard for me to wrap my mind around. What us the right way? What goes against what he said? Are my parents divorced because I am gay? Did bad things happen to me because I chose to believe that god does not exist? No one us punishing me because the choices I make go against some imaginary thing a large group of people believe in.

    Now, I am going to echo some others and say that I don't believe in god because I am simply too logical. I need fact to back up such a ridiculous idea. I'm sorry, but I don't think the bible counts. At all.

    God gave us free will. We destroy things, not Him.

    Even if you don't believe in Him, He believes in you. And He loves you, more than you can comprehend at this point. I believe in Him more than anything, and I still can't imagine just how much He loves us all.

    I'm only going to disagree.

    I'm Christian, I believe in God, and always will. I have faith that He has a reason for everything, even creating mentally ill people along with the disfigured and murderers and terrorrists of this world.

    You know, it's a choice, just like Hinduism and Muslims. With religion there's always going to be grey areas, and I just think that either you choose to believe or you don't.

    If you don't believe in God, how can you blame Him for all the terrible things that happen in the world? He doesn't exist, remember?

    I get what you're saying though, a lot of people think that. I used to think like that too and someone gave me that first line.

    I believe in him but then I don't. I don't believe what's in the bible though. I have found a lot of things wrong with it. Especially the Adam and Eve thing.

    YeahHhh. I understand where you're coming from. I used to have that mindset. I used to hate God. But then one day God saved my life and my eyes were opened to things I've never realized/seen before. So basically the reason why you don't believe in God is because how could he let bad things happen?
    I know life is tough & sometimes doesn't make sense. But there's good things that come out of bad things.
    - if bad things didn't happen, then we wouldn't experience pain.pain can help us grow stronger & learn. Tough times we go through are challenging; it's through challenges that we grow
    -if there were no people with disabilities, there would be no need for compassion.
    -when bad stuff happens like rape or murder, it's not Gods fault- we have freewill. He's not up in the clouds controlling us like we are puppets or something. If people would do things Gods way, stuff like that wouldn't be happening. It's because people choose to not do things Gods way like that when stuff like that happens. and it's normal for people to suffer from other peoples mistakes; peoples mistakes tend to effect not only themselves.
    -without tough times, people that are huge inspirations like Helen Keller wouldn't exist.

    CyFi is correct in that one. God is said to have made us, and put us on the earth, giving us free will to roam. Free will to roam entails that we make our own decisions, even though God could stomp us.

    Genetic deficiency happened a lot as cause of inbreeding in the Medieval era. The family genes get mixed up, and before you know it, you have a one eyed child. Genetics is a rough science, as of late. Mental retardation was not put on earth. It occurred. It happened.

    I have my own theories about why, how, and what, in terms of God, that I'm keeping to myself.

    CyFi; I think I might love you. I barely know you. But I seriously think I might love you.

    I do not believe in God. Give me scientific proof and fact that he exists and I might change my stance. Until then, I will happily sit with a crucifix around my throat and say that I don't believe in him. Oh I love being a hypocrite.

    v Look at it a different way, and hey, we're genetic mutations of monkeys, who are genetic mutations of slime, who are the left overs of the pulverised dinosaurs. I see no God in that argument.

    Haha.

    ... I feel the need to go into detail with your argument as to why he doesn't exist.

    How coud he be so cruel to people, let them be born with disabillites, mental illness and let peoples lives and homes be destroyed

    -If God were to exist, it wouldn't be his fault that people have disabilities and mental illnesses. These are caused by genetic mutations, something happening during meiosis in which the DNA becomes mutated and there are birth defects. It's often caused by the chromosomes not splitting properly, or the RNAs don't have the right proteins, not enough, or too many. This is why people shouldn't do drugs, smoke, drink, etc.. while they're pregnant. Those chemicals and whatnot, mess the cells up, and the meiosis doesn't go how it should, and the baby is born with some sort of disability or mental illness, in most cases.
    My mother was on drugs and she was also an alcoholic while she was pregnant with me, and I don't have anything serious, but I do have small cases of OCD and ADHD.

    -He doesn't control whether homes and lives are destroyed, if I'm correct. Most homes are destroyed by natural disasters. You can take that up with Mother Nature. Though if you're speaking metaphorically, homes are destroyed by people ruining families, and that is their fault.
    Lives are destroyed, because it just has to happen. It'a a natural thing, for people to kill themselves/be killed. Albeit not good, but it's natural.

    Why I don't believe in him;
    There's no proof, and nobody can prove that the Bible isn't just a piece of fiction. Yes, it said certain things would happen, that did happen, but that still means nothing. As far as we all know, Moses was on marijuana. Or whoever wrote the Bible. Jesus could be black. We weren't alive during that time, nobody knows.
    I'm not one to discriminate against religions or anyone's opinions, but it irks me when people think they know when God does or doesn't exist.

    rustynail
    God =/= Jesus.
    God supposedly created us all, Jesus was just sent down to 'share his knowledge' of this 'wonderful being'. He's merely a religious figure.

    /endawesome.

    I don't believe in God. If he were real, I agree, he had a few nails in his body and bled to death it does not mean he needs to constantly cause the suffering of so many people. He shouldn't hold grudges. Mass is boring.

    A lot of people are going to take this offensively, but hey, I'm not the only one who says it;
    F*ck God.
