You didn't. It's just that people are always going to be judgmental of things, and I can't imagine people seriously believing they're above that. For people to give themselves a group and titles just because they'll listen to music? It seems like it's just another way to look good.
It just sounds like these people won't judge based on genre, which - while good, isn't worth viewing themselves as better people for it. That's what it seems like, anyway.

I hope I didn't come off as sounding prick-ish.

I find that anyone who refers to themselves in the manner of "Englightened" about anything are, in reality - elitist pricks. Sad, but true story.

I'm beginning to become an MEP. :] Which is good. I mean, I don't shun music because of beats or if it's a genre I don't particularly make a habit of listening to...but I'm beginning to see more to it than the obvious first impressions.
