My parents are like that I only have on more year and a half to grit my teeth through it all your lucky you get to do anything at all I'm the same but I talked to them about it and my parents put me in home school just so I can suffer alone I still talk to buds online but that's ALL I can do ..... I swear if I have to become a stripper the 1st year I turn 18 so I can get away from this house and live on my own I will till I can get a better job.

The fact that you are an honor student alone shows that you have some sense of responsibility. Let your parents know how you feel about being sheltered, and ask them to cut you a little slack. You try so hard in school, you should deserve a little more time to do what you want.
