Fire, I wasn't suggesting for the third party to dictate the person's happiness and force him to break-off the present relationship, but it was to provide an option, reassuring him that if ever that were to happen, the third party is there for him.
    Is this explanation better?

wow damnn im 18 nd i never thought of that ! but its totally selfish because come on if they are in that commitment you have no right to mess with it. He is happy with whoever that person is then let it go. If you truly love that person seeing him/her happy is going to make you happy. And also because its not just the 2 of them but theres also the other person !

I think that IS extremely selfish. I'm surprised that you've got this much incite about actual love and you're only 16. To the person bellw: How could you dictate someone else's happiness like that? It should be up to them whether or not they are happy and or want to move on.

Yes. Unless if the person really isn't happy with the relationship and you think you think you can make it better. :P
