v.That's cool. That school has 3,500 students already there and more coming. That's great to hear. I'm glad to hear you love that school. I'm literally in shock right now. I'm surprised no one uses their pocket knifes.

I live in a small community and attended a small school. (There's only 450 students in my high school) So we don't really need extra security like cops or guards. They bring dog in twice a year to search for drugs but that's the extend of it.

My freshmen year was the first year we had cameras in the hallways and that due to our large number of fights. But our fights are just fist fights; no one gets seriously injured or stabbed which is kinda of amazing because about half of the school population carries pocket knives.

    My school rocks!

    1. Yep. I went to an elementary school where the high school kids kept shooting us with random things (potatoes, tranquilizer darts, morphine, drugs, pebbles...) so they had to replace the security people with real cops. It worked but the kids inside were still bad o.O (Downtown LA if you're wondering)

    2. If they do something that gets you arrested then obviously yea

    3. Definitely. The reason why I switched out of that elementary school I was saying was because I didn't feel safe and my dad didn't feel like picking me up early almost every day because someone shot me with something or mugged me or pushed me off the cafeteria roof. That was ELEMENTARY obviously those same type of kids grow up and go to high school now so having cops inside that same type of school is loads safer.

RainGirlXD: I mean like feel safe instead of how they felt before. With the parents I mean they won't have to worry as much.
WTFMusicPerson:They won't get arrested for dumb things. I think it will make the students and adults feel more safer than before.
v.That's crazy. The police officers don't arrest the students for dumb things. I think they should get arrested to learn their lesson. Sometimes the parents don't have enough money to pay for expenses or that their child was on the waiting list because they filled out an application but there was others ahead of them.

We have like one copper in our school, he does jack all. Seriously. My sister reported this girl, cause she was going around asking people to her her (meaning, the girl was asking people whether they could kill my sister), and the cop did jack all. And it was my sister who get arrested.
I don't think they should get arrested, we're kids man. We live, we learn. However, stabbing and all things like that, totally fine.
Not really, if the cops do nothing, then why bother with them? Anyway, if the parents don't think the kid is safe in the school, why put them in the school in the first place?

Well not always, but it will make people feel more safe. I'm not so certain that parents wont worry, they shouldn't have to but....all parents will worry no matter what. :p

v.That's a good idea! That's what we should have. I agree with you on #1 and #2. You're correct. But,wouldn't this make the students feel safe and the parents won't have to worry about their children every second?

    1. Yes, I absolutely think they are neccissary now a days. My schools all had armed officers patrolling the school, and I felt ten times safer with them around. They don't bother you, and you just stay behaving, it's perfectly fine. They're there for your safety.

    2. Yes, if they do something really bad, of course they need to be arrested. I understand at a younger age, they may not understand the severity of their crime, and that will be looked into during court. Once you are past a certain age though, you know right from wrong, and if you ignore those laws, you deserved to be punished for them.

    3. I am not sure I understand that, but for the majority, a parent can choose any school their child goes to. They may have to pay extra if their child isn't in their district, but if they are concerned with their safety, then it should be a needed expense. If they are extremely concerned, then they should enroll them in a private school. That can cost extra, but if their child is well behaved it is really easy to get grants into those schools.

A Change of Pace:Because of the drug dealing, shootings, stabbings and fighting.
v.That's very cool! I've never heard of that before. You're correct with #2. I agree with you on that one. Wouldn't it stop the bad students from doing what they're doing?

    1. We had a police station in my middle school. They're necessary if you have a troublesome population, and they are more capable of handling serious situations that a rent-a-cop.
    2. If they do something WORTHY of getting arrested, then by all means. It's highschool. You have to learn to grow up sometime.
    3. More than likely. Then again, it would be nerve wracking to go to a school that you knew had a need to police presence...the table could turn both ways.

v.But,the police officers are more tougher than the security officers that work at that school. They've never arrested someone for calling someone a name. That's just too funny! I think it would scare off some of the bad students too.

    1. Do you think this is a good idea to have police officers instead of security officers?
Personally I think they're pretty much the same. We had a security officer in my school in South Jersey and he was always hanging around and looking for weed and stuff. They brought in security dogs every two months to sniff out the lockers, so maybe that would help? I don't know :p

    2. Is it fair if a student does something really bad they get arrested?
If it's illegal. Drugs, obviously. Drinking, obviously. But not something like calling someone a name. Fights, drugs, or drinking.

    3. Wouldn't it make the students feel more safe and their parents feel the same way to go to that school instead of trying to find other schools for their children to go to?
    Probably :p
