lykwoah - there's a part in the Bible about how people should only eat animals with hooves completely split, and there's another part about how people shouldn't eat any sea creature without scales. Both in Leviticus, I believe.

I don't know the EXACT quote in Leviticus, but it says something to the effect if, thou shalt not lay with man as with woman, for it is an abomination in the eyes of God.

Then again the Bible also says you shouldn't eat pork or shellfish because they're unclean, that women are the subjects of their husbands in every way (which is why men beating/raping their wives was once not really a huge deal), that children who disobey their parents should be beaten/stoned, and there's a paragraph in I want to say Numbers or Deuteronomy about how if a single heathen is found preaching in a city of Christians, the entire city, every man, woman, child, and even livestock, should be put to the sword. I believe there are parts of the Bible that condone slavery as well.

SO. I think we as a society have evolved a wee bit past some of the more archaic laws of ancient religion.

I don't really think there's anything about pork in the bible...
What we have to remember is that these books were written hundreds of years ago, and things have changed. Now is a completely different time than back then. People need to look at the world with new eyes, not with the eyes of old men.
