I was like 10 or 11 and I was BMX racing... It sounds kinda cool when said like that but it was actually my first time trying it out because my uncle and cousin (whose race I was watching) pressured me.... Well as you can tell I fell, when I was turning a corner, I think it's cause the entire race I was focused on going fast but not letting my butt show cause my pants where not exactly racing pants lol.
I fell and I was actually going to get back up and go again but the guy was like no stay down... so I came in third by default and had to sit out the race. I only thought it was bruised or something, but the next day I had school and still couldn't really lift my arm so my mom got mad and I got X rays and stuff. At first they thought it was dislocated but then they saw that my humerus was shattered AND it was dislocated.
So now I have a metal shoulder and two scars, one long slit and one dot where they stuck a metal pin in to keep it together while I healed.... We didn't have insurance at the time so they took the pin out while I was awake with no anastethc (sp?).
Every so often when I move my arm or hold it in a certain way with pressure it pops out and then usually goes back in but it's not pleasant lol. Dad thinks I need another surgery because maybe I've grown and that's why it's been doing it.
I know I thought of the same thing except for the marines or national guard. But I have a metal shoulder that pops out kinda easy and I don't think they take you in if you have that kinda thing already. I think what your doing is good and I will pray you don't die if you choose something that involves active duty. I also hope you don't get sea sick easily lol.
BlueDress Thank you. I know they're probably worried, I mean, if one of them told me they were going into a war zone, I might look at them funny, it just kinda irks me how much they don't trust me. They're all so persistant and constantly making comments about my judgement. It's like, I'm a big girl. I can handle myself.
