I agree 100%. My gf broke up with me recently, and one of the reasons she said it was because I didn't tell her I loved her, and we only dated for like, two weeks. Crazy people abusing the word, as you so eloquently put it.
My one friend and her boyfriend 'loved' each other after like, three days. It's annoying when people say that. They're draining the word of its meaning.
That was long, but impressive on how you wrote it all so fast. xD Then again us writers do write fast. I agree, someone shouldn't say, "I love you" after a couple of hours. -_-
But I'll be honest, I don't think I know what love is. Like I can't define it by a feeling or I can't give anyone an exact defnition. It's like love can be anything. So I feel the same way you do but then I think....well if I can't define love myself, who am I to say that these people don't love each other after a few weeks?
I don't know if that makes any sense. I've loved someone before. But they hurt me. Now I question if I ever really loved them at all.
Why is it so complicated?...or maybe it's just terribly simple. Or it's just love. A word that can't be defined by anything else.
