On turning 18, and how it's (no) different from 17. - Comments

I'm excited to be turning 18 because I can finally get my bartending license and I can finally get my tattoos and my piercings. Basically I like being able to do what I need to do without having to ask my mom for permission first. That is the only exciting part but other than that I'm sure it's just the same as being underage.December 20th, 2010 at 11:18pm

Ditto la voyante; I can't not click on a journal by that username xD
I love that; that you can get into clubs/bars, and work there...but you can't buy alocohol
Nice one, whoever thought that up. Totally wasn't going to encourage underage drinking, at all.
And v. Or you could just go to most parts of Europe at whatever age, and drink :PDecember 20th, 2010 at 10:02pm -
la voyante. i adore yours, too. it's nice, but you aren't walking around with a giant sign that reads 'i'm an adult...' it almost goes unnoticed.
remus j. lupin thank you. i don't want to drink, so i suppose i'm not at a disadvantage. i could always go to england and drink, though.
godless. yes. legally is the way to go!December 20th, 2010 at 09:35pm -
Really, the only good thing about turning eighteen is voting.
But in Canada, I can't wait for the few long-ass months it will be until I'm ninteen. Then I can drink, smoke and gamble... Which I do anyway... But legally!December 20th, 2010 at 09:32pm -
Haaaappppy Birthday :) You're totally right, turning 18 doesn't make you feel any different from 17. (I'm not 18 till march but my two bff's have turned 18 and obvs it hasn't changed them at all!)
Ha, I'm british so luckily turning 18 has the advantage of being able to drink alcohol! :D Ha!December 20th, 2010 at 09:28pm -
First, I freakin adore your username. <3
Well the 'being considered an adult' thing seems pretty nice. :)December 20th, 2010 at 09:24pm
Anyway, when I turned 18 I didn't feel any different at all. I was like, "okay, now what?" Hahah.
