I do the same thing...I checked out a book like 15x in a year cuz i love it XD Then I had to pay like $6 worth of late fees since I turned it in late a couple of times

New Year's "resolution": not lie so much, start a band, try to get rid of the last remnants of my stupid accent, draw more, write more, learn more scales on the bassoon and flute, read more, get a job, finish my detentions

See, that's why I hate libraries--you have to give the books back. I don't like doing that.

My resolutions so far aren't very exciting:
-Declare a major (I'm starting my fourth semester of college on Monday so it's about time)
-Write something creative at least once a month
-Write in my political blog at least once a month
-Outline my novel (not sure if I'll still do this one, as I'm losing interest in my novel idea, unfortunately)
-Leave the state at least once
    -Read at least 10,000 pages

None of those are really major, compared to the last couple years, unfortunately.

I personally hated library books because people were so inconsiderate of them. Like you said, greasy fingers and ink prints all over pages. I promptly began to buy my books, then I started getting serious in school and stopped reading but kept buying. Bad combo. I stopped, but I hope to read all these books I've accumulated over the months.
And don't forget the regulars; loose weight, figure out life, finish school, work on my art more, write more, and live.
