Sounds like the same battle I've been having with my father for quite a while. . . If I ever come up with a way to win that battle, I'll let you know. I hope you'll do the same for me.

Also, I forgot to mention, I started up on Zoloft last weekend. Yup. Finally decided it just wasn't going to be enough to go to therapy. The Zoloft is making me crazy dizzy and nauseous though. I hope it only lasts the three to five days like they told me.

Lastly, this is a horrible way to be reminded of this, but when you said you would've died when you were seventeen, it made me remember your birthday is soon AND I HAVEN'T STARTED YOUR PRESENT YET! AHHHHH! *rushes off to start your present*

Some people do turn into zombies on meds/certain meds. Some don't. I've been on meds that made me into a zombie. It's a valid fear, but I see your point.

I hate to say it, Reb, but your friend has a point.
Antipsychotic medication can change a person completely - just like chemotherapy.

I'm on anti-depressants, as well. And I know some people who think, "OH! Depression isn't serious! You're just an attention whore." Oy...

I wish people would understand the depression is a proper illness. People around me seem to think it's not, when it really is. That's what annoys me.

Agreed. People are so terrified of being labeled or seen as different that they don't get help they truly need.
I hate that having a physical disease, such as cancer, and having a mental disorder, such as depression, are seen in such different ways.
