V The beginning was boring, yes. And it was extremely random and you had to make yourself accept what was going on. Sometimes, it was really hard to do that. And sometimes it was kind of hard to follow. Yes. And sometimes it got boring. But...I laughed so hard. And there are some amazing lines. And the message is good.
I'm going to reread it, because when I was flipping through, I realized that some of the details I had ignored become really important later on. So...that could be part of that, as well?
I loved the "A Great Terrible Beauty" series, but I thought that Going Bovine really fell flat for me. The book really felt forced for me and a little too predictable, I liked the message behind it, but for me it lacked the energy.
V The "Book Club" edition of A Great And Terrible Beauty has five-ish pages of a written interview by her. It had me rolling with laughter. I don't think that's too much of an exaggeration. And her website! She does a mini-biography. That is hilarious. And all of her websites are fantastic. The one for Going Bovine is brilliant. xD
One day, you should attempt Going Bovine. And don't give up in the beginning, like I almost did. It's worth it. =]
Oh my God, I love Libba Bray. I just finished her series of books; A Great and Terrible Beauty, Rebel Angels and The Sweet Far Thing. She is an amazing writer, and that series after I read it became my favorite.<3
There's interviews of hers? I'd like to read some, but I don't know how to find them. D:
