I just disagree, that's all. I don't think a story needs all that stuff to be a good romance. Do I put that stuff in a lot of my stories? Sure. But I do leave it out of some, because I think a story can be exactly like real life.

My female character isn't a teenager in skinny jeans. She's a muscly, ex-army hit-woman from Australia. Hooray, originality!

I do agree with you xD.
#3: my stories might have more than a kiss but its not like every other chapter its like probably once or twice in the whole thing and the story is like fifty chapters long (haha) or more.
#5: Really agree on this. This decided greatly if I read it or not.
#2: I'll read it if I'm really interesting in it and I will point it out on my first comment. Yes they do have rules about spacing.
#1: I've come close to making my a/n longer than the chapter but I try to keep it low I try not to do it.
#4: It's supposed to be fan fiction.

I know totally out of order but yeah. x]

I agree with pretty much everything you said!

As far as the kissing thing, I feel it could work either way. I'd like to read a story in which the characters don't kiss, but I'd like there to be a real reason, like waiting for marriage. It just bugs me when there is no real reason or meaning to the characters behind it and its done just to drag things out.

@ Electric Goat, I'm not saying that have to screw in every chapter, and not every story has to be like that(hence the 'most') I'm saying a lot of teenagers including myself like kisses here and there.
I have nothing against waiting until marriage, I intend to wait until marriage to have sex or do anything else like that with my husband(if I ever get one ha), but yeah, kisses just add a little extra to a romance that is pleasant that makes it seem more, I'm trying to find the right word for it, something in between real and sweet.

When I say 'this isn't real life' I don't mean it in the way you took it, ugh, it's hard to explain what I meant for some reason. I kinda meant in real life a kiss is HUGE and important, while in a story it seems somehow less important because it isn't actually happening to you I guess.

(Sorry I wrote so much and so awkwardly :[ )

Paragraphs. These are a must. A story with no spacing between paragraphs is so hard on the readers' eyes, but aside from that I can keep you off the approved authors list so please abide by this simple rule:
You must have a line's space between dialogue.

I love this one dude and we getting real close. it took a long time and i think that would make a good realistic romance. :) my life is a story :)

#1: I write long author notes but they are at longest, 3 paragraphs. Some writers, such as myself just like to talk a lot. Just tell us to shut up. (not really lol)

#2: I don't like spacing my things out. My paragraphs are all stuck together and my dialog is one on top of the other. It's easy to read the way I have it set up. It's like reading any old book.

#3: Romance isn't my thing. And if so I like the reality of romance. And in my real romance, there isn't kissing. My characters are too nervous. At least for the one I'm writing now. The one story I do have posted on here would have kissing if I were to write more to it.

#4: I have no idea about any of that weird stufff

#5: I agree. My characters, for my "now day" book, my gal is wearing regular T-shirts(not band t's) or dress shirts. Normally some kind of T. Normal jeans, dark or light. (dont really mention, clothes arent important. i just say she doenst dress in the latest trend) she has her natural hair color, and its naturally long. My character dresses all boring-like. but thats ok. thats her.

Yep. So that's my idea. Have fun reading everything I wrote. Its kinda a lot. lol.

#2 - There actually is a rule stating that you have to have proper spacing and paragraphs in your story. Somewhere.

Well sure they're nice, but I don't find them necessary for a relationship.

    #4 and #5 I completely agree on :P

If that's your style, great... but does EVERYONE in the story have to dress like that??

Glad someone else noticed this stuff besides me xD

#4 An original fiction story suddenly having rockstars(MCR, TH, etc...) pop in randomly and have huge parts. I mean seriously? If you can't think of anything get a co-writer, change the statues to 'hiatus' and wait for something that actually goes with the plot line.

It wouldn't be an original story and shouldn't be classified as one.

And I agree with Electric Goat, I've been with my fiance for 2 years now and we haven't kissed once or had sex. We're waiting until marriage and wouldn't leave each other even if it was a life or death situation.

#3 Waiting to for the sequel in a romance story to have anyone kiss anyone. This isn't real life and I've found timing needs to be sped up and drama needs to kicked up a notch to hold interest with most readers on most stories.

Well, this really depends on the story, I think. A romance can be a great romance without passionate physical stuff. A story doesn't need to have tons of physical stuff to be a good story.

As for this not being accurate to real life, that's not totally true. I dated a man for almost a year and we never kissed; we were waiting for our wedding and I can honestly tell you we were totally in love.
