I didn't get a cell phone till I could afford it. So when I was I think 17. I had to pay for the bill. Parents never paid for it.

Parents got lazy I think. There is all this technology out there now geared towards kids, so parents buy it and then ignore the rest.

They go online and see and read all this stuff for people twice their age.

I had a 10 year old come into my work and he was very mature for his age. I felt like I was talking to someone at least 19.

Yes I know exactly what your talking about with the cellphones, getting a cell phone before 14 or 15 was out of question when I was younger, now the amount of children with cellphones is mind boggling, not to mention dangerous considering all the perverts out there who can now probably directly contact their next victim without the parents knowledge.

This journal made me want to cry. I remember all of that stuff. I remember finding bugs and stuff and freaking out. I even remember making tumbleweedmen because it didn't snow where we lived.
There's also one thing you didn't point out; cellphones. I didn't have a cellphone until I was like 14 or 15 and I see 9 year olds walking around with cellphones glued to their ears. It's strange to think that I'm actually a different generation than younger kids.
