It's probably because America is so much bigger than Ireland, and our scenery is varied from one ocean to another. Not everyone has the opportunity to have hills and mountains and lakes. Appreciate what you have because not everyone has it.
If their ancestors came over during the potato famine, like many immigrants did, I doubt they would have wanted the ancestors to stay.
I'm a mutt as I like to say :) I am 5 different backgrounds, English, Irish, Scottish, French Canadian and Native American. :P see a MUTT :)
Anywho, I have always wanted to visit Ireland and all that. Quite frankly I would love to travel. Yes I would like to be some place different, but to actually live some where else than the place I have known my whole life, I don't think I could do it. A nice visit would do just fine :)
I know, it sucks XP Nah, I love my little Emerald Isle, but I often dream of America or Canada, they sound like great places :) But then I wonder, what would I think when I get there?
Its because people dont usually appreciate what they have, people take it for granted and always want something different. Aha, this is the human race, constantly wanting what others have.
