You were literally rolling on the floor laughing? That sounds dangerous.

    *reading* . . . . BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

So, wanna hear the extent of my experience? Here goes: I don't think I ever made it to full-scale emo, for two reasons. One was that I was two lazy, and the other was that I was poor and my parents wouldn't fund me (because they just didn't understand, right?). Oh wait, there's a third: My brothers were mean about me being even close to emo, and mocked me until I chickened out of black eyeliner.

I did shop at Hot Topic, but the only shirts I ever got there were for bands like Nine Inch Nails and Nirvana, because they were the only ones my brothers would approve of (and I was more obsessed with their approval than being emo).

I listened to Green Day because I liked them, and everything else in my repertoire were things that Ryan listened to. I wanted to be him so bad when I was younger. Funny, because now, I'm almost to the point where I listen to certain bands because he doesn't like them (almost).

Although I was too lazy and too scared to buy into the emo phase, I did have quite a bit of interest in it. I listened to the music on the internet, and sympathized with people who had such "bad lives where they're so misunderstood". It was almost as if I believed them, and didn't understand the knack to it was to make everything up. XD

Then, I got my friends into it, and they got emo. When I saw how they suddenly changed and started making things up, the whole illusion was ruined for me, and I started getting into real punk. Started listening to Rancid and the like, and then I got into Ska, and then I started laughing at everyone who used to be like me. ^_^ Oh, how the cycle goes.
