I don't think he realizes just how upset it made me. - Comments

  • It has to be your decision. (not trying to sound harsh or anything) But he can't be the reason you turn down (or accept) opportunities as they arise. Although his opinion will always matter, it can't be the defining factor.

Good luck with whatever you decide to pursue!

  • Hmm, I was reading this and it made me think about my own life choices. If things don't work out the way I'm planning them now, (it's all in my journals but you don't have to read it) then I've wanted to be a psychologist for forever! Though recently I've learned about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Psychology. It's something greatly needed in lots of branches of the military. I myself was thinking Army. If psychology's something you like you could always go that way(:

I'm sure you're dad will be proud no matter what but the initial fact that you're GOING to do what YOU want could be a struggle at first. Good luck!:)

  • Women can be Marines....
I'm for the Marines before anything else. My best friend's fiance is in Afghanistan right now, my other best friend's husband is about to be sent there, and my boyfriend is joining the Marines.

My boyfriend's mom was not thrilled at all either.
