UPDATE: Zac Efron is also apparently up for the role of Light. Theres an interview on Youtube if you wanna check it out. He's apparently read Death Note though so...idk....he MIGHT be okay I've never really seen him in a serious role though so I doubt it.

I love Death Note! I'm willing to give the live-action movie a chance.

I'll still watch it if I can. Though it may not be as good as the original material in any form, if it turns out terrible at least there's the original stuff that still can be enjoyed.

The live action may turn out well if they can actually follow the plot the original live action had. The plot was already changed up a lot from the anime, the English live action shouldn't change it anymore than it has been. Taylor Kitsch... I think he looks like a pretty good Light. He's a bit too old but I think he's a lot closer looking than some of the others they were considering.

I plan to watch it when it's released, it's too early to judge whether it'll be good or not. Try to keep an open mind guys. How do you know it'll automatically be bad? Just because it's in English? You don't know it'll be bad until it's closer to the release date. Don't judge it so soon. Come on now.

A live action isn't really anything new though, most animes get a live action but very few of them are translated to English, most don't leave Japan.
