When I logged in I felt really scared because I didn't update my stories and everyone writes like bunnies on drugs.

I'm going to say I have to agree with you Grace.

    That's much better, isn't it?

JustALittleGirl: I googled the definition of respect for you. You're welcome.

    Respect:
to hold in esteem or honor: I cannot respect a cheat.
to show regard or consideration for: to respect someone's rights.
to refrain from intruding upon or interfering with: to respect a person's privacy.
to relate or have reference to.

I don't think you're blatant disregard of the death of thousands of people or the after effects of this tragedy fit into those categories.

JustALittleGirl - Not "everyone" in the world has to be affected by a tragedy to make it a tragedy worth remembering, or worth changing global security/interaction over. Do you really think all 6,775,235,700 people care about 9/11? Of course not. But then, do you really think they all care about the Holocaust? About the Japanese tsunami? Hurricane Katrina? The recent camp shooting in Norway? Of course not. But that doesn't make the tragedy any less upsetting, or less effective in changing the way people think about the world or about their community. Not every person in the globe's population has to be affected by something in order for it to be generally effective in changing the way nations interact with each other.

JustALittleGirl: I can't believe you commented on this. Respect or silence. I believe that's what was asked. If I were Redundance I'd go through and delete all of your comments off this journal.

I didn’t ‘Whole world,’ in a literal sense. I just think that people should let others express their respect for those that had lost their lives.

The media is the reason why so many people know about 9/11. Even if you don't know people that died, many people were brought up to respect the people that have passed, because of different reasons. At the end of the day, if you died, I doubt you'd want people to be disrespectful to you.

JustALittleGirl, it did affect the world. As a global community, we now have a heightened sense of paranoia when it comes to travelling via plane (or any other mode of transportation, really). The security checkpoints. The pat downs. The random bag searches. Security in different nations around the world tightened after 9/11 because, let's be real, who wants this happening to their own country? Nobody. So everyone's more careful. Not to mention the global economy was affected big-time for awhile afterwards.

Emotionally, no, maybe 9/11 didn't change the world. But go to an airport in a foreign country and have fun waiting for 4 hours to be strip-searched. That's 9/11 after-effects for you, on a global scale.

Let's rephrase it then, it affected anyone who cares about other people's lives and feelings.
I will always respect 9/11, no matter how uncaring I may be.

Casey.Chieri Not everyone in the whole word talks about it though. That's all she was saying. She is respectful though and I'm deeply sorry for everyone who died, but not every single human being is changed by this.

    v Mostly the news. Yeah...

If it didn't affect the whole world, why does the whole world talk about it?

Some people might be outraged because people haven't let go, some people are remembering the past, it will affect everyone, just not all in the same way.
