I know I'm new but...... - Comments

  • I know exactly how you feel. what really gets me frustrated is when i see people have read my stuff, but they haven't commented, which leaves me filled with doubt if what i wrote was good or bad. one way i've seen people get comments or readers is to enter those contests where the winner gets one of their stories or something linked/publicized in the (whatever you call the person that held the contest)'s story or profiles. i'll more than gladly tell people to read your stories through "Sorry, I Love Him" (i'd put a link, but i don't know how. me and tecnology don't mix)

  • Story comments are hard to come by. My suggestion is comment swapping. It's one of the best ways to get comments on this site and, usually, you can get some fairly good feedback with the comments. There is also a forum called Tips in the forum section, it's a forum all about writing and you may be able to find some useful advertising threads there.

  • I suggest swapping. I also suggest watching for "candy bowls" in the journal section throughout the rest of tonight to the 31st. Some of the "candies" have the journal poster read and comment/read and subscribe to one.

The candy bowls are part of Mibba Halloween, which you can read about here: http://www.mibba.com/forums/topic/171060/

  • There's actually a journal on this page that's looking for a comment swap. Or was; I'm not sure if they still are but you can ask.

  • Derek - You can talk about other things too just leave links to the stories. Maybe host a comment swap or something. Someones bound to respond. There's also a thread in the Writing forum. Just go to the Tips subforum.

  • Well....not everyone is on the story section and not every story can be read since most people update a lot so your story can be pushed to the fourth page in under ten minutes.

And to me it doesn't sound as bad, it's no different than real life. Want employers? Put out the now hiring sign. Want students? Let the state know you got a school built. Want friends? Go out and talk to epople.

It can't all just fall in your lap. Make things happen or otherwise......shhhhhh!

  • Well that completely sucks. so i just talk about my stories in my journals and then i might get readers?

  • Most of the time the only way you get comments/readers/subscribers is if you whore them out in your journals or go to the comment swap thread. Otherwise; no.
