I would sort of know hun. I took an overdose of Ibuprofen about a month ago. I didn't have to go to the hospital -the one you're thinking of-. Instead I was sent away to a mental institute. I only know what your friend was feeling. It sucks and it truly is a frustrating process. I hope she feels better :). Good luck!
