If the swear is used in the correct place and what not then I think it does add emphasis. But if it's f*cking swearing just to f*cking swear like every other godd*mn word like the way I'm typing right f*cking now then they better as f*ck get rid of all these godd*mn words! F*CK.

See? :) If I typed like that it wouldn't add emphasis. I hate when people put "f*ck" for every other word.

I can agree it adds emphasis, I don't know if it's the good kind of emphasis. Also, not "everyone" curses.

WANTED. THAT MOVIE IS DA BOMB. I have it, and like, I love it.....

I swear a lot. Like a whole damn LOT. I think of it as a more powerful way of saying something, like you. I understand how it can be disrespectful and ll that shiz, so I don't do it around people I don't know and/or adults.

I don't get why it's so, bad. I mean, come on. It's a word. Maybe it's just me?

This was not a serious piece, i mostly thought it would be funny. haha of course i know there's a time and place for profanity and it can be distasteful at times, and of course i'm not suggesting it's appropriate to go around speaking profanities after every word, but i was just having fun writing this. It's one of those things, we don't want to go to school everyday but we just got to do it, we don't want to be good all the time and just let loose and say screw it, but sometimes we can't. Hey, Shakespeare cursed in his plays and he is known as a literary genius, it can't be that bad..

I don't curse out loud, generally, unless I get hurt and it comes out involuntarily, but I usually try to avoid that, as well. I don't like cursing much. I don't see how curse words can't be replaced by others, I guess.

I do, however, use it in writing, if a character is the type to swear.

I swear more than I should and honestly don't care. I think if it's nonstop and every sentence, it's hard to take the person seriously, but then again, if they're swearing that much, they probably don't give a sh*t about what people think.

But it definitely does at emphasis at certain times / in certain situations.

Swearing, when used at appropriate times, is irreplaceable. Trust me, if I say a swear word (Out loud, I write swear words all the time..) there is no replacement for it. I hate when I say damn or something and someone around me is like, 'I think you meant darn.'. It's like, fuck no I didn't mean darn! If I had wanted to say darn I would have fucking said darn!

Most of the time, cursing just isn't really...mature, I guess. It can definitely add emphasis, though, if it isn't over-used. But it often is.

I agree but meh, cursing I think is very unsophisticated and respectless, but I do it anyways.
