If all of your friends are 14 as well, I can assure you that none of them are likely any more secure than you are. Think about it. You said, "I wish they'd realize that maybe I'm not as confident as I seem..." Perhaps they think the same thing. You're not the only person who feels like that. I don't know a single person who was really confident when they were 14. It's an act. An act to protect getting hurt, looking weak, or to fool themselves into actually thinking they're so great: an act's an act.

Now, you and I BOTH know that when you say they are perfect, you don't mean it. Everyone has his/her flaws, and the way to 'appear' perfect is to embrace your good qualities, and either fix the flaws which are negative, such as a high ego or rude attitude, or EMBRACE flaws. Appearance flaws are in the eyes of the beholder. What you might see as imperfect, may actually be something that another might like. The only way to discover beauties and perfections you don't think you have is by loving yourself wholly and ignoring the opinions of the young teens around you whose own opinions are constantly changing.

    Hope this helped.
