For your Peter Pan story, I am pretty sure it would be considered a fanfic. Just because you are using characters created by somebody else.

I really don't have any specific ideas. But perhaps there could be a girl who fell down the same hole as Alice? And Alice herself has been locked in a mental hospital, because the doctors believed that her stories were false and crazy. But this new girl finds Wonderland, and she wants to prove that it's real. But she can't get out.

I love Peter Pan! I'd definitely check out the story.
