---Vintage the third-Fancy seeing you here~ Guess the tricky thing is deciding what makes a story 'top'. Most read, most commented? Most recommended, best rated, editor picks, contest winners? There's a myriad of ways to do it, each have their own possible pitfalls.
---eight letters-I see why it could be irksome to not have a nice go-to startpoint for good stories, though I personally kind of like the idea that enquiring to people of this writing community here helps reveal the good stories and authors hiding inside it.
---Vintage the secondd-Don't give up! Can safely say there are a large handful of people who prefer OF to FF. Site this size, half the battle is publicizing yourself, and having avenues with which to do so~
---Phil-I will say there are a buttload less Fanfictions wrongly in OF then there used to be when the story types were first set up. Doesn't narrow it down much, but it's something. Though such is my belligerence, I feel that a kickstart of the Story Rec thread could help illuminate some of the stories that perhaps aren't getting the recognition they should.
---Charity-Although only one person in the last month has changed their post in the Editing thread to show they've been helped, I can say with certainty that six have had that step slip their mind and three more haven't checked their inboxes. ;)

Agreed with eight letters late. Quizilla had the entire top story thing and it was pretty rad, but that's one thing that Mibba could add in too.

When I first joined this site, what shocked me the most was how hard it was to find a decent story. In other writing sites, there's "top" stories, and I usually just go to those. Mibba doesn't have that, so I was pretty lost on how to find good stories until I started talking to people. That's the only complaint I have.

Commenting again! Like Phil Collins' Baby, I totally get the whole fan fiction. It's really hard getting original fictions out there which is something I'd totally like to change. Not eradicate fan fiction, because I write it too, but I don't know. Have incredibly different spaces for the two fictions. Because my original fiction isn't getting the traffic I hoped it would xDD Ahhh, such is life.

I agree with everyone actually. I see more activity on the journals and the articles and the chat section combined then I do with the stories section. I mean sure new members are joining and about half of them contribute to the stories and all but there are possibly more unfinished stories than there are finished stories floating around on this site and more what some might call crappy poorly written stories then there are well thought out and organized stories out there. But the stories section has experienced a lot of different trends. When I first joined back in March, I saw that a lot of people wrote Justin Bieber, Jonas Bro, MCR, Green Day, and other bandfiction stories. But now all I see are MCR and A7X bandfiction mainly. Not that I'm complaining but a lot of people don't really bother with the story section because it's all littered with band fiction and alot of the band fiction are categorized under original fiction for no apparent reason, but still. Like I've said, there have been a lot of different trends on this site.

I was looking at the writing section of the forms, and it's quite sad about the lack of activity in those sections. Especially the forum about needing a beta/editor.

One of the biggest problems I face, is the comment swap or lack there of. I have had the repetitive occurrence of me commenting and reading someone's story when they didn't read/comment back. It upset me quite a bit.

Also, more feedback would be generally helpful. However, it's all on the user, like you said.
