That's understandable, it can be hard not to get irritated while sifting through all the fanfiction.

@skye deerly: I know! I just wish I knew who M. Shadows was. Maybe I would enjoy it. xD
@Airi.: Yes, I know. I didn't say Mibba was yet in the state Quizilla is. I just felt the need to head that off at the pass. Yes, yes, of course. I just get annoyed quite easily. Especially by seeing pages of fanfiction.
@ghostie,: I've come to that theory, as well. But, people could easily change the names in fanfiction, and publish it as original. It wouldn't be that hard, considering most people write fanfictions that just consist of a certain celebrity being in their life.

I'm not saying anything bad about any sort of fanfiction. As a matter of fact, fanfiction was most of what I wrote when I was last on here. I just get bothered when I see tons of it.

There is a lot of fanfiction because many people prefer to read fanfiction rather than original fiction. That being said, many people prefer writing fanfiction than reading original fiction too.
Because original fiction is not a hundred percent safe on the net, so many people do not post it. But with fanfiction, it is a different matter as fanfiction very rarely gets published so the best bet for it is on the net.

There is a lot of fanfiction on mibba, but that doesn't mean mibba is going to become or is in danger of becoming like Quizilla at all. Mibba is not even close to the state where Quizilla is.

That being said, there are a lot of original fiction writers that inhabit the journals section. You could do a comment swap journal or a journal asking for story suggestions and just specify you don't want any fanfiction. You could always click the Original genre button on the Stories section as skye deerly suggested. Original fiction is a bit harder to find than fanfiction, it just takes a bit more effort to find original fiction.

Yes, of course. I actually said I did that. But, there's just been quite a lot more fanfiction than I remember when I used to get on everyday, quite a few months ago. I just noticed I couldn't find any original stories for three straight pages, so I felt the need to talk about it. That's all.

You can always click the "Original" genre option to the side of the stories list.
