The full interview is what will be airing on Thursday, right now only specific sound bites have been released from my understanding. Once again that face that people are uniformed voters is causing damage far beyond what they think.

Amendment One was a complete disaster in more than one way. It is sickening and disgusting such a law passed. The law attacked not only same-sex couples, but all unmarried couples. It's despicable and the sad part is, most of the people who voted in favor of this bill knew next to nothing about it. Most of the people who voted in favor of this bill had no clue what they were voting for.

I sincerely hope the North Carolina courts will overturn this bill, but somehow I feel that's not going to happen. :/

v Obama coming out in support of same-sex marriage was said only today.

Wait he said that on Thursday? I just heard about it today. It was in the news today... damn it.

But yes, I agree with all you've said. No one should have any right to vote against same-sex marriage. It is a human right. It isn't something you just say "oh it's wrong" to and ban. They can do it, but it's not fecking right.

another one agrees with me then. in one of my journals, i ranted about this, and it dosnt just effect gay marriage either, but thats what people saw in the headline. in fact, gay marriage was already banned in NC, this amendment just make civil unions even harder, so they are now taking away rights for an unmarried man and woman...it is complicated, please see my journals. they are the most recent two.

North Carolina is the worst place ever. I live like twenty minutes away from there and everyone I know from there is extremely ignorant and boring and redneck-y. I hate it. I'm not surprised at this at all.

P.S. That kid in the last picture looks pretty faggy.

This sickens me. It really does. If I have children, they will never be brought up this way and if they say one cruel word about anyone for homosexuality, I'll smack them in the mouth. I will not see younger generations be as spiteful, hateful, and as judgemental as the older generation.

v Welcome to Minnesota in advance, then, and thanks for voting, it really does mean a lot to me. <3 I've got a former Ohioan voting here, too. Oh, by the by, if you happen to be moving into the sixth district--that is, the one I live in--could you also do me the favor of voting Michele Bachmann the hell out of here?

The same amendment is coming to popular vote in my own state of Minnesota this November. The sad thing is, I'm already about 85% sure it's going to pass here, too, and this is a much more liberal state than North Carolina.

Well, domestic violence can really happen to anyone.
    But I'm just saying...
It's like that saying I see on tumblr. It goes along the lines of:
"You can tell society is scr*wed when they'd rather see two men holding guns then holding hands"
I don't know. It just bothers me...

Beyond banning gay marriage, it doesn't allow unmarried couples to have orders of protection if there is domestic violence.

That is so messed up. That picture with the little boy... I,
I don't get why it affects people so much. Why it bothers them...
God doesn't hate us. I mean, I know he doesn't...
    :(
So if a girl gets married to an abusive male partner thats better then getting married to someone who loves her but is the same sex?
    I can't even...
Love is love, doesnt matter the age, the sex, the height, the width, the color.

I know exactly what you mean. I don't live in North Carolina, but I heard about the ban and had the same reaction of just wanting to either punch something or throw something breakable across the house, but then again, I have anger management issues.

Anway, the worst part of hearing it, or hearing any conservative talk about gay marriage is the the phrase "To protect the sanctity of marriage". Bullsh*t. The sanctity of marriage was lost the minute a drive through marriage chapel went up in Las Vegas.

    My opinion.
