Racism can and does happen in every culture against every race.

Racism is not exclusive to white people. If you hate ANYONE for their race, you're racist, regardless of whether you're white, black, hispanic, asian, etc.

That mentality infuriates me every bit as much as racism itself. Not to mention, it's hypocritical.

You aunt sounds like an asshole, I'm sorry but in the end I am not. And the mentality that you speak of is because there is white privileged that still happens to this day because of what your ancestors did. I mean your ancestors has ruined many native american's lives, black people, Hispanic people ect ect. And the white privileged still happens to this day so yeah I can say why black people, Hispanic people and Asian people are mad and want the world to be a better place.

What your ancestors did still affect people now a days and people all around the world. A lot of place in Asian people want to look white because that is what is deemed beautiful and hell that happens in the black and Hispanic community as well. The lighter you are the better you are treated. I think you need to google white privileged for your aunt and then google Light Skin Vs Dark skin in POC community and then maybe she will understand WHY people are mad and that racism isn't funny or cute.

And to the comments below you saying there is racism against white people...then no. Just no. I think you need to look up white privileged as well.

i've kind of given up on people.

v. I'm not talking about telling racist jokes. I myself have been guilty at times of that. In high school, one of my good friends was from Mexico and I called him "Dirty Mexican". He knew I was only kidding and it made us both laugh. Had he not been ok with it, I wouldn't have done it.

What I'm referring to it's when you're in town and a black person walks by and the person you're with calls them a n$$$$$ under their breath. Or when I'm with my dad and someone ahead of us can't drive and he comments, "it must be a n*****".

It's pointless, tasteless and hateful.

1. "it happens." a lot of blacks and mexicans (i am mexican) where i live are racist towards white people...for being racist. i just came to the conclusion a long time ago that it's kind of been engraved into our systems (the people from around here) to think that way. i don't know how to explain it. i'm not saying we are raised to be racist, it just happens from generation to generation, even though we get along perfectly fine with all races (even white people). it's a very morbid thought. i mean it's a daily thing to hear a black person tell their hispanic friend a joke about hispanics and vice versa. i guess what i'm saying is that it's not seen as taboo here by everyone.
2. i'm being completely honest, we (mostly my dada's side of the family does this) tend to tell a lot of racist jokes. even about our own race, they don't do it because they HATE certain colors, it's like i said, it's just kind of the way they were raised. to make gutsy jokes.
