Hello! Don't take this the wrong way at all, but I don't really fall into the category of "typical MCR fans." I mean, I've always been a fan of rock and alternative, but I'd never listened to My Chemical Romance or a band like it before. But a few years ago when the Welcome to the Black Parade single came out, I was like , "Oh, this is pretty good. Good vocals, good guitar." And that was that for a few year before I heard the song again, and I decided to look up the entire album.
Once again, at this point, I'd never listened to music with lyrics and storylines quite like MCR's. I listened to The Black Parade and by the time I was almost done with the album, I was like, "This is some pretty...interesting...stuff." And then I heard Famous Last Words. The meaning of the entire album changed for me. Suddenly it went from being about some guy who died to being an inspirational story about not giving up. I quickly fell in love with the album and have since bought it, as well as Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.
Sorry to leave such a long comment, but I just wanted to share a view of MCR from a little bit of a different perspective also. Amazing how so many different people can all like one band. :)
