That poor guinea pig. It was doomed no matter what with an owner like that. That's beyond irresponsible for her to have kept her guinea pig outside like that, especially when the owner knows there is predatory birds and dogs around. No matter how nice a dog may be, they still have natural instincts that can take over every now and then. Some people are just unbelievably cruel, irresponsible, and neglectful. Some people just shouldn't be allowed a pet. I sincerely hope this woman never tries to get another pet ever.

If I were in your place I would sue that lady. It's her irresponsibility. But it is also dangerous to let a dog wander around, even if neighbours let it. Another dog could come along, a very dangerous and violent dog, and it could hurt your dog. Any number of things could happen. My dog had animal control called on him because he wandered off when going to the bathroom out in the yard. My neighbour isn't as kind as yours are and complains constantly about my dog going to the bathroom in my OWN yard. If my dog even touches his grass he comes over to bitch at me for it. He's said he will call animal control to have my dog put down if I don't constantly clean up after him on my own lawn. Because apparently it's illegal to let your dog go to the bathroom on your own lawn? I hadn't known... some people are absolutely cruel.

I am disturbed by the fact that the guinea pig was kept outside as well.

Who in their right mind keeps a guinea pig outside...? I would give her a stern talking to, myself. She was asking for the poor creature to be killed. That's very irresponsible pet-parenting (I don't know what else to call this...).

    v. Right? At least I'm confident that my dog's never going to have animal control called on her ever again. >___>

...What? So this woman is willing to have your dog put to sleep because she was stupid enough to leave a rodent pet outside, in the open, without a cage?

I hope a freaking hawk eats her next three guinea pigs.
