I've actually been bullied since the fourth grade. :( But I'm always standing up for the other kids that are being bullied, and I thank you for doing the same even though you have never been bullied. That takes real guts, kid. And about your boyfriend: dump him. If he's going to stereotype you then he's obviously not worth your time.

People like to hate and pick on what they don't understand. Hardcore/screamo isn't very popular (it is, but compared to the amount of people that listen to pop music such as Katy Perry, Lady GaGa, etc it'ss unpopular). They hear one song and think it sounds scary or violent. They're not actually listening. Some people do know a lot about it though and just say it sucks cause well, a lot of those bands do suck. Not A LOT, but there's a good amount that do really sound the same. Aside from that, people are just too ignorant to give different genres a chance. Ex, I put an Of Mice & Men CD in my car & my parents are like uhh wtf is this, yanno? It's not their usual thing, they don't like it. I know a lot of people like to listen to it and mosh and get their anger and frustration out. I personally am not an angry person, I've got a good home life, I'm going to a good college, I've got good friends, etc but I enjoy the music. I enjoy it when I'm in a certain mood & I also like to headbang to it! People just associate it with "emo" and cutting and depression and violence. If they took a minute to do some research or even just LISTEN, they'd understand.

Yeah, I agree, but sometimes I think people get offended too easily. I mean, not about the music because different kinds of music are just.. amazing. But about other things, such as the way you "sound" on the internet.

Lately I've had a lot of people tell me I'm being "rude" on the internet because I'm not saying specific bad and good things in the comments I leave.

People are just insecure about themselves, so they use it as a weapon. It's disgusting, and I hate it.
